240 Views Rostov defeated Bayern 3-2 in Stadion Olimp 2 in the group stage of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League.

Sardar Azmoun and his club defeated football giants Bayern Munich in a spectacular display of calculated football.

The Iranian striker scored Rostov’s first goal just before the half-time whistle to equalize the match (after Douglas Costa’s 36th minute goal).

Two more goals from Poloz and Noboa were enough to give Rostov the three points; Juan Bernat scored Bayern’s second goal.

This closely contested match ended 3-2 in the home team’s favour, and put the German visitors six points behind group leaders Atletico Madrid.

Rostov is now third in Group D, and has a chance to qualify for a transfer to Europa League if they can stay above last place PSV Eindhoven.

The Russian club will host Anzhi on November 27th, in the Russian Premier League.
