Persepolis through to AFC Champions League quarter-finals [highlights]

Paatoop.com- The Red Army booked its place in the quarter-finals of the 2017 AFC Champions League, after defeating Lekhwiya 1-0 in Doha.

In the 23rd minute of this match, a beautiful play between Vahid Amiri and Mehdi Taremi lead to an own-goal by Lekhwiya defender Chico Flores.

The home-leg of this match-up ended 0-0 in Azadi Stadium, therefore giving Persepolis a 1-0 win on aggregate.

Elsewhere, Esteghlal Khuzestan was defeated 2-1 by Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, and has therefore been eliminated from this edition of the AFC Champions League.

Persepolis is one of the four remaining teams in the West Region; the other three being: Al Ain (UAE), Al Ahli (Saudi), and Al Hilal (Saudi).

The quarter-finals of this tournament will begin in late August.
